Impacted Cloud services:

Impact Level : minor

Infrastructure upgrades (CRITICAL)

Volt Foundry 9.5.15 will include changes in product and provisioning code to supplement the infrastructure update scheduled for the same date of release, switching out our MySQL 5.7.x databases for MySQL 8.0.x owing to the former reaching end-of-support from AWS on Dec 2023.

All multi-tenant components (Identity, Engagement, Console etc) and runtimes will be migrated to MySQL 8.0.x on the date of release. Single-tenant runtimes (app services) and well as any supplemental DB space provisioned on the instance will be migrated on a per-request basis. Please open a support request to schedule an upgrade at the earliest convenience.

Kindly note that any environment(s) provisioned after Sep 10 2023 will mandatorily be on MySQL 8.0.

Customers working on, or migrating to, Volt Foundry 9.2 will have a similar update (for multi-tenant modules) announced shortly.

Minor downtime is possible for the impacted Cloud services while this maintenance is being performed. The scheduled maintenance is designed to mitigate disruptions to service availability and performance for the impacted Cloud services. However, it is possible for the impacted Cloud services to be unavailable and/or performance degraded for a short period of time during the maintenance window. Note that no changes are being applied for other Cloud services outside of the list of impacted services above and no service availability or performance disruption is expected for other Cloud services.
